Last updated: June 10, 2026Convert between 30+ currencies with live rates.
The Currency Converter turns any amount into another currency using live mid-market exchange rates published daily by the European Central Bank. Type a figure, pick a "from" and "to" currency from 30+ options, and it instantly multiplies by the current rate to show the converted total plus the exact 1-unit rate. It's free, needs no sign-up, and runs in your browser — only public rate data is fetched, never your numbers.
Disclaimer: Exchange rates shown are indicative mid-market reference rates and may differ from the rate your bank, card or transfer provider actually applies. This is for information only and is not financial advice.
How to use Currency Converter
This converter answers one question fast: what is X of one currency worth in another, right now? It pulls the latest ECB reference rate for your chosen pair and applies it to your amount the moment you change anything. No "convert" button to hunt for, no account, no daily limit. Here's how to read a currency in seconds.

- 1Type the amount you want to convert into the Amount box (it defaults to 100).
- 2Choose your starting currency in the first dropdown and your target currency in the second — for example USD to EUR.
- 3Read the converted total instantly, along with the exact rate shown as 1 FROM = X.XXXX TO and the rate date.
- 4Tap the swap button between the fields to flip the pair and convert the other direction without re-typing.
Central-bank reference rates
Every conversion uses the official mid-market rate set by the European Central Bank, the same neutral midpoint banks and apps quote against — not a marked-up retail price.
Live four-decimal precision
The exact pair rate is displayed to four decimal places with its publish date, so you can verify the math and see exactly how fresh the figure is.
Instant two-way swap
One tap on the swap button reverses the currencies and recalculates immediately, letting you check both directions of a trade in seconds.
Compare a bank's transfer rate
Before sending money abroad or paying a foreign invoice, convert the amount here at the ECB mid-market rate to find the fair value. Then compare it against the rate your bank or transfer service quotes — the gap reveals the hidden spread you're paying and whether a cheaper provider is worth using.
Budget a trip in your home currency
Planning travel and seeing hotel or tour prices in a foreign currency? Drop each price in, set the local currency as the source and your own as the target, and instantly see what it costs back home. The swap button lets you flip to price local spending against the cash you brought.
Price freelance work for clients abroad
When quoting an overseas client or invoicing in their currency, convert your home-currency rate to theirs at the live mid-market figure so your pricing stays fair on both sides. Recheck near invoice time, since the daily ECB rate moves and the displayed date tells you how recent your number is.
Convert USD to EUR quickly
For the most common pair, leave the defaults on USD and EUR, type any amount, and read the result and exact four-decimal rate at once. It's a fast sanity check for online shopping, reading financial news, or settling a cross-border bill without opening a banking app or spreadsheet.
Currency Converter — frequently asked questions
Where do the exchange rates come from?
They are the European Central Bank's daily euro reference rates, fetched live through the free Frankfurter data feed. The ECB publishes these mid-market rates once each working day around 16:00 CET, and the tool shows the date of the set you're using.
What exactly is the conversion formula?
It multiplies your amount by the current pair rate: converted = amount x rate. The header line shows that rate as 1 FROM = X.XXXX TO, so 100 USD at 0.92 simply becomes 100 x 0.92 = 92 EUR.
Is a mid-market rate the same as what my bank gives?
No. The mid-market rate is the unmarked midpoint between buy and sell prices. Banks, cards, and money-transfer services usually add a spread or fee, so your real cost will be slightly higher. Use this figure as the fair baseline to compare against.
How many currencies and how current are they?
Over 30 major world currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, INR, JPY, AUD, CAD, CNY and more. Rates refresh on each ECB publication; the feed is cached briefly for speed, so figures reflect the latest available working-day rate.
Is my data private?
Yes. The amount and currencies you enter stay in your browser — only a public request for the day's rate table is made. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or tied to you, and there's no account or tracking of your conversions.
